Residence permit for a highly skilled worker
This procedure is for highly skilled workers who have received a job offer from an employer recognised by the Dutch immigration services. The employment contract must provide for a minimum salary level.

Identity
Copy of the passport
You must provide a copy of the pages of the highly skilled migrant's passport. Only the pages containing identity details and stamped pages are required. The passport must be valid.
Common errors
- The copy is incomplete and does not include all stamped pages or the identity pages. The passport is expired.
Appendix on criminal record (Appendix Antecedents Certificate, 7601)
This appendix must only be attached if the highly skilled migrant has a criminal record, or if the certificate has not been signed by them. Any applicant aged 12 or over must complete this declaration.
Common errors
- The form is not attached although the applicant has declared a criminal record, or the form is not signed.
Copy of a valid Schengen residence permit
This document is required only if the applicant already resides in the Netherlands, has a nationality subject to the MVV visa requirement, and is applying for a regular residence permit. A copy of a valid residence permit issued by another Schengen Area member state must be provided.
Common errors
- The residence permit is expired or was not issued by a Schengen Area member state.
Identity photograph
An identity photograph that complies with the requirements for Dutch passports. The applicant must bring it to their appointment at the embassy or consulate for the collection of biometric data. The photograph will be scanned there.
Common errors
- The photograph does not meet the required standards, which can cause unnecessary delays in the processing of the application.
Other documents
Application form (Application for the purpose of residence of highly skilled migrant (recognised sponsor), 7511)
This form must be completed by the sponsor who has been recognised by the IND. It must be printed in A4 format and at its actual size. It must be completed using an HB pencil or a black or blue ink pen, only in the spaces provided.
Common errors
- The form is completed by an entity that is not a recognised sponsor. The form is not printed in the correct format, which may delay processing.
Appendix for direct debit collection
This appendix must be completed to authorise payment of the application fees by direct debit. This payment method is reserved for recognised sponsors and their authorised representatives.
Common errors
- The form is incomplete, illegible, or is not signed by an authorised person of the account holder.
